Thelma Bush

HOCKINGPORT – Thelma LucilleBush, 89, of Hockingport, OH, passed away on Sunday July 6, 2025, at the Arcadia Nursing Center in Coolville.

Born June 29, 1936, in Parkersburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late William and Laura (Lamp) McKibben. Lucille was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, held a Licensed Nurse Practical (LPN) degree, and retired after working for over 20 years as a home health aide at Athens County Visiting Nurses Association.

She is survived by her significant other, Fred Burton of Hockingport, OH; a son, Ric (Pam) Bush of Franklin, TN; a daughter, Vickie Lowry, of Louisville, KY; a sister Joann (Uwe) Fund, of Hampton, SC; 5 grandchildren, Heather Lowry of Louisville, KY, Chad Dunkle of Louisville, KY, Megan (Jason) Kidd of Lexington, KY, Sydney Bush of Franklin, TN, and Aaron Bush of Franklin, TN; a granddaughter in-law, Elyse Dillinger of Odenton, MD; and 8 great-grandchildren, Larry and Aleea Fletcher, Nathaniel, Gabriel, and Vivienne Dunkle, Westin and Avery Dillinger and Kyler Kidd.

Along with her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris “Jean” Kirby and Ruth Hanna, both of Parkersburg, WV; her ex-husband, Cecil Bush, of Hockingport, OH; a daughter, Pam Dillinger of Canaanville, OH; and a grandson, Matthew Dillinger, of Odenton, MD.

As per her wishes, there will be no public services held at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to White Funeral Home in Coolville.
