Wanda Fay Jarvis

     Stewart - Wanda Fay Jarvis, 78, of Stewart, passed away on December 1, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

     Born September 14, 1945, in Wheelersburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Doris Morrison Stone.  Wanda retired from the Sears Distribution Center in Columbus, Ohio.  She loved classic country, bluegrass music and attending bluegrass festivals where she made many longtime friends.  She also had a passion for casinos but most of all she loved her grandchildren. 

     She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Glenn Jarvis; her daughter, Connie (Charles) Sanders; her son, James (Gerri) Jarvis; grandchildren, Charles (Valentina) Sanders III, Clayton Sanders, Collin (Allie) Sanders, Katelyn (Kamrie) Harvey, Tyler Jarvis, Zachary Rodgers, and Tiffany (Jason) Hester; six great grandchildren, Ariel, Chaz, Luca, Tate, Ella and Nova; one brother, Lloyd Stone; sisters-in-law, Virginia Stone and Linda Stone and a daughter-in-law Alicia Rodgers. 

     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Rodgers; a brother, Bernie Stone and two sisters, Carol Sheaf and Venita Moore.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens with Charles Jarvis officiating.  Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.  Friends are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.  

     In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St Jude’s for Children Cancer Research.  

     The family would like to give special thanks to the ladies at Shriver’s Hospice.
