William Edward Starr Jr

Athens - William Edward Starr Jr, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 8,  2026 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Born May 16, 1978, in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of William Edward Starr Sr and Barbara Blair Trout. William was a 1996 graduate of Alexander High School and Tri County Vocational School where he studied Drafting. He worked at WalMart in Athens for many years. William bled orange and black and was the biggest Cincinnati Bengals fan you could imagine! He loved the outdoors, especially kayaking and fishing. Cheeseburger, yes please! He never met a cheese smash burger and some mac and cheese he didn’t like. He enjoyed to cook many after hours meals with his brother Jason and was known for making a mean omelette.

Besides his parents, he is survived by four sons, William Edward (Dottie) Starr III, Gabriel Starr, Jordan Starr and Jayden Starr; one daughter, Lexy Starr; two grandsons, William Edward Starr IV and John Leeroy Starr; two brothers, Matt Starr and Jason (Christy) Harness and his grand puppy Roxy “Wiggle Butt”.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dave Trout and his aunt, Deb Hatfield.
